[green]In view of the imminent danger of an attack by German troops, the decision was made to evacuate and move the Moscow factory.
[On November 19, 1941, the first train carrying machines, tools and parts to start production of a SIDECAR named M72, a reproduction of the BMW M71, to which the plans had been offered when the two nations were still at peace, arrived at the station in Irbit, a small town 300 km from the capital, in the foothills of the Eastern Urals.
[green]It is in the course of the year 1942, that the first specimens left the factory of Irbit. Then, until 1945, nearly 9’500 units were produced.
[From the beginning until today, it is more than 3 million vehicles which will see the day in this factory.
[green]For the seventy years, the Anniversary model M70, originating from the M72, is adorned with the color of its ancestor, namely a clever mixture of brown, gray and olive green.
